Roles/Structure


Facilitator – more comfortable for students to share/disagree, have questions to guide discussion and create most productive possibilities
Professor  ­- keeps us more focused, help us design the syllabus, ambassador to the larger community - both within and without the 5Cs- to help students go beyond the class, help with speakers, can join the discussion, flexible role ;)
Space – Different mix of people than in informal spaces, different approaches, come in with prior knowledge from HW, student-led academic/personal style-talks, it is a good thing that the professor leaves sometimes,
